The Nwulite Obodo Open Data License (NOODL) Solution

The NOODL Licence is transforming how African language datasets are shared. Created to address inequities in traditional open data models, it embeds community-centered principles of recognition, ownership, and benefit-sharing. At Maseno University, the first cohort of Dholuo data collectors is putting this framework into action ensuring that language data is preserved, used responsibly, and that communities benefit from the innovations their languages inspire.
