WAISWA ABUDU SALLAM

Dr. Waiswa is an enrolled advocate of the courts of Judicature in Uganda. He is currently employed as the Head of Litigation, Prosecution and Legal Advisory at the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), the regulator of the communications sector in Uganda.

Dr. Waiswa holds a Doctorate in Law (LLD) from the University of South Africa, a Master of Laws degree (LLM) in Corporate and Insolvency law from the Nottingham Trent University, UK, an Upper second Honours Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and a Post Graduate Diploma in legal practice from the Law Development Centre, Kampala.

Dr. Waiswa has published a number of legal works notably; in 2014, he published a workbook on Fundamentals of Commercial Law in Uganda, wherein he made a profound contribution to the body of knowledge on commercial law in Uganda. In March 2024, he published another book titled, The Law and practice on Corporate rescue: A South African, Ugandan and International perspective, which has added to the jurisprudence on insolvency law in Uganda.

Dr. Waiswa is a regulator participant in trainings, workshops and often appears on panels on regulation of Artificial Intelligence in Uganda, Africa and the world.
