CYBER POLICY CENTRE FELLOWSHIP 2021

Description: The CIPIT CPC Fellowship Program was created to encourage and enable research and scholarship in the field of cyber and data policy. Post graduate applicants from all relevant disciplines are encouraged to apply. Previous research, coursework or experience in privacy law, information technology, political science, or cybersecurity may be useful. Applicants must be Kenyan citizens, permanent residents or be authorized to work in Kenya. The 3 month fellowship generally begins in April and will end in July.

Approximately half of the time will be devoted to selected research topics, the other half focusing on substantive CPC projects. Fellows will work remotely, working closely with the Research and Publication teams. Occasional travel to CPC events, where possible, may be part of the fellowship experience. A white paper, research report, academic article or similar publishable deliverable may be completed as part of the fellowship. All work product is expected to be of very high quality, appropriate for publication through professional or academic channels, as well as useful to practicing privacy professionals.

Key attributes of the fellow

  • Master’s degree/ Undergraduate degree with strong relevant experience

  • Proven interest in IT and IP law, policy.

  • Background in Law, public policy, political science, governance and Information Technology

DATA GOVERNANCE CENTRE FELLOWSHIP 2024

The CIPIT Data Governance Centre Fellowship Program was created to encourage and enable research and scholarship in the field of data protection and privacy. The research area of interest centers around privacy and data protection, with a focus on the gendered impact of these issues, from an African perspective. The 2024 Data Governance Centre Fellows will contribute to the legal scholarship in the field, submit a journal paper on their respective projects and convene a webinar to disseminate their project findings.
